Sextortion, Addiction, Erectile Disfunction. Kids watching porn and what you need to know about it. Kids must tell the first day that they see porn or studies have shown that they never will. Jensen believes that porn is the worst addiction because of the fact that you can never detox from the porn images in your head. Like other addictions, porn must be more and more extreme in order to fule the addition. The acting like they "like it" in these films creates an expectation that violence is expected and must be liked. Younge men are now being treated for erectile dysfunction at earlier and earlier ages because of watching porn and not being able to have erections with a real person. Jensen thinks that the reason most parents that give their kids smartphones and don't fully understand what is "out there" AND they truly believe that their kids would never be interested in porn. Any game that is connected to the internet has the capability to expose kids to porn or sextortion. Sextortion is a fast growing issue for kids. Someone online convinces them to take photos of themselves. They are then blackmailed into sending money. Porn addiction shows up in MRI's exactly like any other addiction. The prefrontal cortex ( which is the executive functioning part of the brain) has actually shrunk in size, as a result, of lack of use. The addiction has hijacked the brain. HomeWork Begin the conversation with your kids about TODAY. A great conversation starter is to ask the "What if" or "What would you do?" questions. What would you do if someone showed you porn or pictures of naked people? What would you do?". was… “there are no words.”

Past and future of the independent thinker.

The history and background of the word Maverick and why I chose Maverick as the type of person I want my kids to grow to be.

The very first Maverick was Samuel A. Maverick a politician in Texas who happened to also have cattle.

Maverick refused to brand his cattle saying that he did not want to hurt the cows. This was beyond unheard of at the time and with that, the word Maverick was born. An independent thinker, someone who does things their own way.

So what does this Texan have to do with our kids?

Being a Maverick means that you do not need a label (brand) to define who you are.
Maverick kids are comfortable being the odd one out, are willing and able to stand up for what is right with the mental fortified to withstand the social pressure of the 'herd'.
Maverick parents don't care what other parents think they do what is right for their family.
Why is it important now more than ever to raise kids with this kind of inner strength?

From 2007 to 2016 subside amongst 10-14-year-olds has doubled (see NCOSE doc below) Why? No one can really say for sure but there is a lot of speculation about bullying and social media stress. My hope is that our Maverick kids will be able to stand up against and stop this hateful behavior in its stacks.

57% of bullying stops if just one person defends the person being picked on.

My hope is that our Maverick kids will also know what porn is and the addictive, socially damaging nature of it.

When they are shown porn they will be able to confidently say "I don't watch porn" "Because it's addictive, harmful to women, and promotes human trafficking".
